Now Playing: Ragnarok Online 2

No, I take it back. This looks like another WoW copy with mediocre presentation.

Developers should've stuck with isometric hack and slash MMORPG just like the first Ragnarok, it truly was one of the best Action RPGs ever created and this just isn't it. Why didn't they see potential in isometric perspective ...

GameSpot Asia Beat Ep. 15 - Goodbye, 2012

We say farewell to 2012, recapping the highs and lows of the year.

This year has been quite a heck of a ride with its ups and downs, hasn't it? We've seen Kickstarter projects, lots of good studios closing down, Twitter movements that showcased gender inequality in the games industry, and companies doing silly things trying to pimp their titles and hardware. Also, there's still no sight of the Wii U on sale in Asia.

To offset this, there were tons of games that were our highlights. Joining myself and Randolph Ramsay on this mega-podcast of the year are Ian Gregory from Witching Hour Studios, Aloysius Low from CNET Asia, Bryan de Silva from RazorTV, and Sim Cheng Kai from SGCafe. We've done such a great job at covering 2012 that we needed to expand our podcast for an extra hour. That's right; it's THAT good.

So seriously, go listen to it now.

Download the larger-than-usual-and-life podcast here. Time stamps are at the bottom for your reference:

For those who have been tuning in to our little Asian audio adventure, thank you so much for the support throughout the year. If you like what you've heard or if you want to see some changes to the show format, or if you have any requests for topics, don't hesitate to do the following:

Journey composer to score upcoming Leisure Suit Larry remake

Grammy-nominated artist Austin Wintory to compose for Kickstarter-funded project.

Austin Wintory, renowned for creating the music of PS3 title Journey, has another, decidedly less experimental game he's composing for.

According to a recent interview on Polygon, Wintory will be composing the score for the upcoming Leisure Suit Larry remake from developer Replay Games. Leisure Suit Larry creator Al Lowe reached out to Wintory during the Spike VGA awards on the weekend of December 7.

The composer stated that he had experience in writing "sexy music" for films; the game developers made sure that Wintory was comfortable creating "seedy, back alley kind of stuff", given the nature of the Leisure Suit Larry series, according to the Polygon story.

The Leisure Suit Larry remake was successfully funded via Kickstarter. The game is scheduled to be out in the first quarter of 2013 for PC, Mac, iOS and Android platforms. The soundtrack for Journey was recently nominated for a Grammy for the Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media category.
