@chasecarnevale they had every right to defend their trademark but its not like he was making a fallout style game. i could understand if he was making a fallout style game but he wasnt.
this is kidna random but:
like if someone was making a game where the character is in a guerrilla war against oppressive angels and called it The Saints Guerrilla or something and had Violation come down on them for Saints Row and Red Faction Guerrilla. admittedly the gameplay would be like RFG sorta but guerrilla is the best word for that.
its understandable to enforce something if someone was making a game set in fallouts world but making another game and putting pressure on them just for having the word fallout in its title is just needless and not very good behavior.
they might as well pressure games that have settings in common to fallout to change what they are instead like Wasteland, Earth 2150, or Warzone 2100 considering those are games that are set in a post nuclear world...
The Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion team was told to change their name becuase of a trademark on rebelion by another game group but really Rebellion was the best word for that game.
this was just an overly unnecessary move by Benthasda. its not like he was using the name in the hopes it got more purchases or some free promotion which he now has lol.
